Globally recognized degrees at a comparatively moderate cost
Safe, multicultural and student-friendly cities
Strong co-op and applied-learning programme options
Structured post-graduation work permit (PGWP) pathway for eligible graduates
Getting Started
Admission Requirements
- Academic transcripts meeting the programme's entry requirements
- English or French language proficiency evidence (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/TEF) where required
- Statement of purpose or letter of intent for some programmes
- Valid passport and supporting financial documents
Student Visa
Visa Information
- Most international students require a Canadian study permit to study for programmes longer than six months.
- Applicants need a Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
- Applicants must show proof of sufficient funds and meet health and character requirements.
- A biometrics appointment and, in some cases, a medical exam may be required.
Cost of Living
A practical planning range is around CAD 1,000–1,500 per month, with cities like Toronto and Vancouver generally more expensive than smaller cities.
Work Opportunities
Eligible study permit holders can generally work up to 24 hours per week off-campus during academic sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks, subject to current IRCC rules.
Post-Study Opportunities
Eligible graduates may apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). As of 2026, IRCC has frozen the list of PGWP-eligible fields of study for non-degree programmes for the year; bachelor's, master's and doctoral graduates remain exempt from the field-of-study requirement, though PGWP eligibility and duration depend on the programme length and current IRCC rules in force at the time of application.
