Last Updated: 7 September 2026

Quick Summary

Sweden’s first admissions round for international applicants for Autumn 2027 opens 16 October 2026, with the application deadline on 15 January 2027 — the only practical route for non-EU/EEA students needing a residence permit.

Deadline: 15 January 2027

What is new

UniversityAdmissions.se has confirmed the official application calendar for the Autumn 2027 intake, updated on the portal on 31 August 2026.

Application round opens: 16 October 2026

The first admissions round for international applicants — the round relevant to Pakistani students — opens on 16 October 2026.

Application and programme-ranking deadline: 15 January 2027

Applicants must submit their application and rank their chosen programmes by 15 January 2027.

Supporting documents and fee deadline: 1 February 2027

The application fee (where applicable) and all supporting documents are due by 1 February 2027.

Master’s results date: 1 April 2027

Admission results for master’s programmes are expected to be published by 1 April 2027.

Why the first round matters for Pakistani applicants

Pakistani students who require a Swedish residence permit should apply through this first round. The second round, which opens later, is not practical for non-EU/EEA applicants, since there is generally not enough time to receive a residence permit before the semester begins.

What to prepare before 16 October

Applicants should have their degree certificates, transcripts, passport copy and English-test results ready, along with a shortlist of programmes, before the portal opens.

Important limitation

Meeting the application deadline does not guarantee admission or a residence permit — applicants must still meet each programme’s academic requirements and the Swedish Migration Agency’s permit conditions.
