France Excellence Pakistan Scholarship 2027

The France Excellence Pakistan – Climate Change Scholarship 2027 is offered by the French Embassy in Pakistan to support academically strong Pakistani students pursuing selected Master’s programmes in France.

The scholarship focuses on programmes that develop expertise relevant to climate change adaptation and related challenges in Pakistan, including environmental and energy engineering, agriculture and food sciences, biomaterials, One Health and international economics.

This is a competitive scholarship, and applicants must apply to one or more of the five programmes specifically listed in the official scholarship call. Applying to a different programme does not make a student eligible for this award.

Application deadline: 18 November 2026

Applications for the 2027 scholarship call opened on 1 October 2026. The deadline to submit the application through Études en France is 18 November 2026.

Applicants should complete their online application and upload the required documents before the deadline. Late applications are not eligible.

For the MSc Process and Bioprocess Engineering programme at IMT Atlantique and the Biorefinery and Biomaterials programme at INP Pagora, applicants must also submit a separate application through the respective university admission platform.

Students should check the official scholarship announcement for the latest instructions, programme-specific requirements and application updates.

What does the scholarship cover?

The official scholarship call lists tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, one return air ticket between Pakistan and France, social security coverage, assistance in finding affordable student accommodation and free French-language classes before departure.

The student visa and Études en France procedure fees are also covered through reimbursement upon request after the scholarship has been awarded, subject to the official conditions.

Accommodation assistance includes priority access to CROUS residences where available; it does not guarantee a room.

Applicants should consult the official announcement for the detailed award conditions. The scholarship is competitive, and benefits apply to selected recipients rather than every applicant.

Who can apply? Main eligibility requirements

Applicants must be Pakistani nationals and must meet the academic and personal eligibility conditions specified in the official call.

Applicants must hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree from a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognised Pakistani university, or be currently enrolled in the final year of a qualifying four-year Bachelor’s degree.

The minimum academic requirement is a CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00.

Applicants must be no older than 28 years at the time of application.

The graduation gap after completing the undergraduate degree must not exceed two years.

Applicants must also satisfy the admission requirements of their chosen eligible programme. Meeting the general scholarship criteria does not guarantee admission or selection.

The five eligible Master’s programmes

The scholarship is restricted to the five programmes listed in the official France Excellence Pakistan – Climate Change call.

1. MSc Process and Bioprocess Engineering, track Project Management for Environmental and Energy Engineering — IMT Atlantique, Nantes. This programme combines engineering, environmental and energy systems with project-management skills. It covers Master 1 and Master 2.

2. Materials Science and Engineering Master’s, Biorefinery and Biomaterials programme — INP Pagora, Grenoble. This Master 2 programme focuses on biomass valorisation and the development of biomaterials, chemical products and energy-related applications.

3. Master in Agriculture, Food Sciences, Environment and Nutrition (MAFEN) — Université d’Avignon, Implanteus Graduate School. This programme covers areas such as plant and environmental sciences, food chemistry, food processing, microbiology and human nutrition. It covers Master 1 and Master 2.

4. One-Health Emerge Master’s Degree — ONIRIS. This interdisciplinary Master 2 programme addresses infectious diseases and emerging chemical and biological risks through a One Health approach.

5. International Economics — Université de Lille. This Master 1 and Master 2 programme focuses on globalisation and international economic challenges. Applicants need a strong Bachelor’s-level background in economics, statistics or econometrics, and mathematics.

Which academic backgrounds are suitable?

Eligibility depends on the specific programme, not simply on holding a four-year Bachelor’s degree.

Engineering graduates with relevant academic preparation may consider the Process and Bioprocess Engineering programme. Students with suitable backgrounds in materials science and related fields may consider Biorefinery and Biomaterials.

Applicants with relevant backgrounds in agriculture, food science, environmental science, nutrition or related disciplines may explore MAFEN, while suitable medical, veterinary, pharmaceutical and biological-science applicants may consider One-Health Emerge.

The International Economics programme requires a solid foundation in economics, statistics or econometrics, and mathematics.

Students must review the official university admission criteria to determine whether their specific qualification and coursework are appropriate.

Is IELTS or French language proficiency required?

The scholarship call states that French-language knowledge is an advantage but is not mandatory for the scholarship call generally.

However, applicants must still meet the language requirements of their chosen programme. The level of English is also considered during selection.

Do not assume that IELTS or another English-language test is automatically waived. Applicants should check the relevant university’s admission requirements and the accepted forms of language evidence.

How to apply through Études en France

Applicants must submit their applications through the official Études en France platform for all five eligible programmes.

For IMT Atlantique and INP Pagora, a second application on the university’s own admission platform is compulsory. Applications submitted on only one platform will not be eligible for those two programmes.

Applicants may select up to seven programmes in the Études en France catalogue, but only the five programmes named in the scholarship call qualify for this particular scholarship.

Prepare your academic transcripts, degree certificates or evidence of final-year enrolment, CGPA documentation, identification, statement of purpose and any programme-specific supporting documents required by the platform and university.

Follow the official application instructions carefully. An incomplete application or failure to meet a required university application deadline may affect eligibility.

Selection process and scholarship conditions

Selection is competitive and considers academic excellence, the consistency and quality of the statement of purpose, and the applicant’s English-language level. Relevant institutional partnerships may also be an advantage.

The French Embassy in Pakistan also states that gender equality and representation across provinces will receive attention in the selection process.

For programmes spanning Master 1 and Master 2, continuation of the scholarship into the second year depends on passing all first-year examinations without retakes, according to the published call.

Selected students are expected to join the programme for which they were awarded the scholarship. Changing programmes between Master 1 and Master 2 is not permitted under the stated scholarship conditions.

Scholarship selection does not remove the need to complete the relevant admission and immigration procedures.

Important costs and planning considerations

The Études en France application procedure carries a fee of PKR 30,000 under the published 2026–2027 process. The official scholarship call describes reimbursement upon request for successful scholarship recipients, subject to its conditions.

Applicants should confirm current fee-payment instructions and reimbursement eligibility directly with Campus France Pakistan before making financial decisions.

Students should also review the location of their selected university, the programme duration, required documents and any additional costs that may not be covered by the scholarship.

Submitting an application does not guarantee scholarship selection, university admission or a French visa.

Who should consider this scholarship?

This opportunity is particularly relevant to Pakistani students with a four-year Bachelor’s degree, a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00, a graduation gap of no more than two years and an age of 28 or below at the time of application.

The scholarship may suit applicants whose academic background closely matches one of the five eligible programmes and who can prepare a strong, well-supported statement of purpose.

Students from unrelated fields should not assume that they qualify for every programme. Programme-specific academic prerequisites remain essential.
